Hello, Cascades at Saint Anne in Seattle, WA is actively looking to hire a part-time Activities Assistant (average of 16 hours per week) with the ability to work at least one weekend day.

Job Description:

The Activities Assistant assists the Activities Supervisor execute activity plans that benefit the physical, mental, and psychosocial wellbeing of each skilled nursing resident:

• Seeks and identifies ways to support residents' activity needs and preferences, routines, and choices
• Under the direction of the Activities Director, independently carries out individual and group activities that meet the functional levels, needs and interests of each resident
• Adapts activities to match the cognitive and physical functional levels of the residents using task segmentation, verbal prompts, set-up assistance, physical assists, and demonstrations
• Maintains/cleans activity equipment and supplies. Maintains activity space in a clean, orderly manner.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma
• Reliable transportation to/from work
• Prior Activity experience in a long-term care setting (assisted living, skilled nursing) is strongly preferred, or experience planning and leading activities or events - whether professionally or through volunteer work.
• Must be able to work one or both weekend days on a consistent schedule.
• Ability to think quickly, adapt to changes, and creatively develop alternative activities as needed.
• Work independently while staying organized and self-motivated.
• Ability to obtain a King County Food Handlers card within two weeks of employment start date.
• Ability to safely lift and carry 15-25 lbs., assist with pushing residents in wheelchairs, and support resident mobility as needed. Must be able to lead or assist with senior exercise and group activity routines, stand and walk for extended periods, and frequently move throughout the facility, including walking up and down hallways. Requires the ability to bend, reach, and perform light physical activity throughout the shift.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently in order to communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff, follow written instructions, and accurately complete required documentation.

Pay Range: $21.30 to $22.00 per hour

• Pay is based on the number of years of direct experience as an Activity Assistant, specifically in a skilled nursing & rehab (SNF) or assisted living (ALF) or setting.
