Project Overview:

Bechtel is partnering with NextDecade to support their vision to provide the world access to lower carbon intensive energy with their Rio Grande LNG (RGLNG) project in Brownsville, Texas.

RGLNG is a natural gas liquefaction and export terminal situated on a 984-acre site on the banks of the Brownsville ship channel. The first phase of the RGLNG project consists of three liquefaction trains, two storage tanks and one marine berth. At full capacity, the five-train facility will have a production capacity of 27 million tonnes per annum (MTPA).

Brownsville, Texas is a city known for its diverse history, tradition, and rich culture. Job Summary:

In this role, you will perform tasks involved in the formation and administration of purchase orders. You will prepare bidders’ lists, qualify bidders, form bid packages, issue bid requests, participate in negotiations, recommend commitments, secure approvals, communicate with suppliers and monitor supplier performance. Your efforts are to ensure potential and current suppliers comply with purchase order requirements and provide the required service and results to meet project needs. #LI-CS1

Major Responsibilities:

• Communicates with Engineering to assist and/or guide them in the preparation of material requisitions for the procurement of materials and equipment and to achieve the understanding needed to process these requisitions 
• Forms bid packages and issues bid requests; coordinates bidders’ questions; and receives bidder proposals 
• Prepares Commercial Bid Summary and recommendations to award 
• Prepares and commits purchase orders within their authority 
• Communicates with suppliers and personnel within Bechtel to establish clear definition of requirements and to assure supplier performance to the obligations within the purchase order 
• Identifies, defines, and secures agreement regarding purchase order changes 

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Requires a University Hire with 1-2 years of experience or 5-6 years of relevant work experience

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Knowledge of business administration procedures, techniques, and business ethics. 
• Skilled in oral and written communication. 
• Experience or training in the functions of Procurement or Engineering, or Construction. 
• Familiar with purchasing systems and automation. 
• Knowledge of Bechtel Digital Supply Chain System (DSCS) is a plus.
