Executive Assistant to the City Administrator

The City of Chester, South Carolina, is accepting applications for the position of Executive Assistant to the City Administrator . This position plays an important role in supporting the daily operations of the City Administrator’s Office and ensuring effective communication between the City Administrator, City Council, department heads, staff, and the public.
Position Overview
The Executive Assistant to the City Administrator provides high-level administrative and operational support to the City Administrator. This position assists with managing the daily activities of the Administrator’s Office, coordinating meetings and communications, and preparing official correspondence and documentation.
The Executive Assistant serves as a key liaison between the City Administrator, City Council, City staff, and members of the public. The position requires strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
Provide administrative support to the City Administrator
Manage calendars, meetings, and scheduling
Prepare correspondence, reports, and official documents
Assist with coordination of City Council and committee meeting materials
Serve as a liaison between the Administrator’s Office, City staff, elected officials, and the public
Maintain confidential records and information
Assist with special projects and administrative initiatives
Manage access to the City Administrator’s schedule and coordinate requests for meetings and communications
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum five (5) years of administrative or executive support experience, preferably supporting senior leadership
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and standard office technology
Experience in local government or a professional administrative environment preferred
Education
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s Degree preferred. Relevant executive administrative experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
Salary
$48,000 – $56,000
