Job Description

Job Summary:

Streamline Innovations, Inc., is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Lab Technician to support laboratory testing, quality control, and process optimization efforts. This role is critical in ensuring the accuracy of chemical analysis, maintaining lab organization, and supporting field and operations teams with timely and actionable data.

The ideal candidate is hands-on, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, industrial environment with strong emphasis on safety, precision, and accountability.

Job Duties:

Laboratory Testing & Analysis

  • Perform routine chemical analyses (e.g., pH, alkalinity, iron concentration, conductivity, H2S-related testing, etc.)
  • Prepare and test samples from field units, blending operations, and R&D trials
  • Maintain accuracy and repeatability of all test procedures
  • Record and report results in a timely and structured manner

Quality Control & Assurance

  • Support quality control of blended chemicals and incoming raw materials
  • Identify and flag off-spec conditions or anomalies
  • Assist in developing and refining lab SOPs and test methods
  • Maintain calibration logs and ensure proper function of lab instruments

Data & Reporting

  • Log results into internal systems (Excel, SCADA-linked systems, or databases)
  • Assist in trend analysis and data validation for operations and engineering teams
  • Support development of standardized reporting formats

Lab Operations & Maintenance

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe lab environment
  • Manage inventory of lab supplies, chemicals, and consumables
  • Ensure proper labeling, storage, and disposal of chemicals
  • Assist in setting up new lab equipment or test procedures

Support to Operations & Development

  • Assist with pilot testing of new chemical formulations (e.g., chelant blends, surfactants)
  • Support troubleshooting efforts tied to field performance (e.g., foaming, carryover, chemistry imbalance)
  • Collaborate with operations, engineering, and control room teams

Requirements

Required

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent hands-on experience)
  • Basic understanding of chemical handling and lab safety practices
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to follow procedures and document results accurately

Preferred

  • Experience in oil & gas, water treatment, or industrial chemical environments
  • Familiarity with wet chemistry techniques (titrations, spectrophotometry, etc.)
  • Experience with lab instrumentation (pH meters, conductivity probes, etc.)
  • Comfort working with data in Excel or similar tools

Work Environment

  • Controlled office/laboratory environment
  • Light industrial setting
  • Field Work as needed
  • May involve handling chemicals; therefore, adherence to all safety protocols and PPE requirements

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to meet physical demands of a typical laboratory environment
  • Prolonged periods sitting and/or standing
  • Must be able to push, pull, and lift up to 25lbs
