Job Description

Our client is a leading global manufacturer specializing in synthetic filaments for a wide range of applications. They are seeking a hands-on Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance operations at their facility in Columbia, SC .

This role is responsible for driving equipment reliability, maximizing uptime, improving preventative maintenance programs, and leading continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, hands-on troubleshooting experience, and the ability to build a culture focused on safety, accountability, and operational excellence

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop maintenance technicians while fostering a hands-on, lead-by-example culture 

• Oversee daily maintenance activities, staffing, scheduling, training, and performance management 
  

• Develop, implement, and improve preventative and predictive maintenance programs to reduce downtime and improve equipment reliability 
  

• Troubleshoot and support mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automation systems 
  

• Analyze maintenance KPIs, downtime trends, and equipment performance data to drive continuous improvement initiatives

• Utilize CMMS systems and maintenance data for planning, tracking, and decision-making 

• Manage spare parts inventory, vendor relationships, and procurement processes to ensure critical components are available 

• Lead root cause analysis efforts and implement long-term corrective actions to prevent recurring failures 

• Support capital projects, equipment upgrades, and process improvement initiatives

• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, safety standards, and company policies while promoting a strong safety culture 

• Maintain maintenance records, work orders, and compliance documentation 

• Drive 5S, lean manufacturing, and operational excellence initiatives across the maintenance function
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered 

• 5+ years of maintenance leadership experience within manufacturing, industrial, or processing environments 

• Strong hands-on experience with mechanical and electrical troubleshooting 

• Experience managing preventative maintenance programs and CMMS systems 

• Proven ability to analyze data, identify trends, and implement measurable improvements 

• Knowledge of OSHA regulations, safety standards, and maintenance best practices 

• Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies preferred 

• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills 
  

• Experience with spare parts inventory management and equipment reliability strategies preferred
  

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
