Job Description

This position is for a skilled welder focused on large industrial-sized heaters. The primary responsibility is to perform TIG welding on stainless steel, as well as MIG and PAW welding. The role also involves helping build and assemble parts and equipment as needed.

Responsibilities

• Prepare materials and parts according to welding specifications.
• Set up and operate equipment to cut, stamp, bend, and form metal parts and materials for welding.
• Read engineered blueprints and drawings to weld customized parts together.
• Perform TIG, MIG, and PAW (Plasma Arc) welding on stainless steel, including welding parts, vessels, and enclosures.
• Weld flat, cylindrical, or irregular parts by positioning bolts, clamps, and tack welding to secure positions prior to welding.
• Examine welds for bead size and other specifications.
• Test completed products for welding reliability and completeness; clean, re-weld, grind, and finish welding as necessary.
• Assist in building and assembling parts of equipment and machinery as needed.
• Collaborate with engineers daily on new product development.

Essential Skills

• 3-5 years of MIG welding experience.
• 1-2 years of TIG welding experience.
• 1-2 years of PAW experience.
• Ability to perform vertical and horizontal welds.
• Proficient in reading engineered blueprints and drawings for customized products.
• Experience examining welds for bead size and other specifications.
• Capability to set up and operate welding equipment, as well as equipment for cutting, stamping, bending, and forming metal parts and materials.
• Willingness and ability to assemble and build manufactured parts when needed.
• Ability to collaborate closely with the engineering team and test completed products for welding reliability and completeness.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience welding on customized products (preferred but not required).
• Experience in assembling large industrial manufactured parts and equipment (preferred but not required).

Work Environment

The position is based in a climate-controlled manufacturing environment, working closely with the New Product Development Team and engineers. This environment promotes collaboration and innovation, ensuring a comfortable and productive workspace.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Quincy, IL.

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $25.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Quincy,IL.
