Job Title : YouthBuild Student Success Coach
Location: Coconut Creek, FL 33066
Schedule: M-F 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM.

This is an Onsite position, which may require early mornings and/or evenings and occasional weekends.

Role Snapshot:

The Student Success Coach reports directly to the YouthBuild Program Manager to implement, maintain, and sustain Junior Achievement of South Florida’s YouthBuild program. This position is intended to ensure the students are successful during program and immediately afterwards in their job placements.

This position requires very strong organizational skills as they work to maintain all documentation for the program, relationship building skills to connect with students, parents/guardians, teachers and program partners.

Your broad responsibilities will include:

  • Assist Program Manager in managing and expansion of the Program.
  • Communicate with schools' teachers, BRACE advisors and counselors to streamline program integration.
  • Develop monitoring and documentation to continually assess potential barriers and offer supports and resources.
  • Address students’ socio-emotional needs to increase program retention rates.
  • Complete monthly student check-ins with each student.
  • Develop and maintain parent/guardian engagement plan.
  • Create individualized student plans that incorporate industry interests, pre-apprentice improvement plans, growth tracking to increase employment best fits.
  • Maintain student documentation.
  • Build relationships with community resources to ensure wrap around services are available and utilized as needed.
  • Build student portfolios to showcase student experiences, trainings, certifications, etc. to ensure marketability.
  • Develop workshops, touchpoints, and practice testing to work with teachers, guardians, and students to ensure high school graduation for participating students.
  • Assist with the recruitment, placement and support of students in job/apprenticeships after completion of the program.
  • Assist with the student recruitment.
  • Assist with Orientation Planning and Facilitation.
  • Assist with Curriculum Planning, Facilitation and Evaluation.
  • Assist with events such as recruitment days, graduations, program days, etc.
  • Assist with Employer/Student Matching Platform Buildout.
  • Assist with Employer Onboarding Processes.
  • Increase number of businesses and depth of relationships.
  • Increase teacher/counselor support and involvement.
  • Other duties as assigned

Along with the above, we would also expect you to have:

  • Minimum 2 years in student/family case management.
  • Minimum 2 years of educational program implementation or related experience.
  • Preferred Bachelor’s degree: Associate degree or equivalent education/experience required.

 

Reliable transportation is needed as local travel will be required to speak to donors, attend conferences, and manage program implementation (mileage will be reimbursed).

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting, walking, and occasionally required to reach, bend, lift, or climb.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
