Northwest Partners is supporting a major initiative with a top-tier organization in the financial services technology space and is looking for an experienced COBOL Mainframe Application Developer to contribute to the success of this work. This role focuses on designing, developing, and supporting enterprise mainframe applications while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable and scalable solutions.
What YOU will do
Design, code, test, debug, install, run, and maintain mainframe application software programs
Analyze specifications for application enhancements to ensure compatibility with other systems and adherence to operating guidelines
Prepare documentation for operations, application programming, and user personnel
Provide technical assistance and system-related information to stakeholders
Assist in training application programming and user personnel on software and system usage
Perform data conversions and conduct data conversion analysis
Analyze and resolve application support issues
What YOU will bring us
Bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline preferred
3 5 years of mainframe experience including COBOL, CICS, VSAM, File Manager, and Easytrieve
Ability to solve problems requiring extensive data gathering, investigation, and analysis to define and implement effective solutions
Ability to read, interpret, and communicate complex business or technical concepts with internal and external stakeholders
Ability to travel up to 10% as needed
